Eureko acquires an 80% shareholding in Eureko Sigorta.

Eureko B.V. is a privately-owned financial services group whose core business is insurance. The company is registered in The Netherlands. With operations in eleven countries, the Eureko Group has more than 23.000 employees and offers a full range of insurance products – Life and Non-Life and pension products, health insurance and services, asset management and banking. Eureko has shareholders from 10 different countries. It ’s main shareholders are Achmea with 54,37 % of the ordinary shares and Rabobank with 39,47 %.

Eureko’s philosophy is to create an integrated, pan-European group consisting of market leaders in the territories in which its companies operate, providing, ‘local solutions, shared goals’. Each of its Operating Companies has strong, dominant brands; they know their local markets intimately, and are customer-focused. It is this local expertise, with the backing of a strong European Group and the sharing of skills and experience throughout the Group, which is the corner-stone of Eureko’s values. To date, most Operating Companies have retained their own brand names, but the acquisition of the Non-Life insurance arm of Garanti bank in Turkey required a change of the company name. This new company is Eureko Sigorta, which is the first instance of the Eureko name being used as a commercial brand. In February 2009, Interamerican Romania chose to re-brand, adopting its parent company name, Eureko.
